What a run chase by the Mumbai Indians against the Kings XI Punjab! Firstly it was a super century by Hashim Amla, and then Mumbai pursued those runs with absolute confidence. Now Mumbai face the Delhi Daredevils at the Wankhede in the second game of this Saturday, 22nd April and Shruti has a look into her cards.
Let’s begin with Mumbai – they do appear to be feeling comfortable at home, but they won’t be complacent, instead they seem active and aggressive. This attitude should work well for them with their batting, but their bowling could have some troubled expensive phases, making them a little defensive at times. It’s Delhi’s batting that seems to be quite helpful for the Mumbai bowlers as they could find it tough to maintain a healthy run rate. When it comes to their bowling, the Daredevils will need to lift their game especially as they seem to be very well planned – execution could take time but they should be able to pull things back in those death overs.
I am expecting Delhi to compete in this match up. They come into the game with the right mindset and are willing to fight till the last straw. Some changes from their end do look like a possibility, but will that be enough to conquer Mumbai’s fortress? Surprise surprise, I don’t think so. In fact, it’s Mumbai that seems to be more pressured to perform, and this pressure will keep them on their toes to do so, which is why it’s tarot advantage: Mumbai Indians.
