England’s win in the recently-concluded Women’s World Cup should give the Women’s Cricket Super League T20 a much-needed boost headed into its second edition. The Kia Super League squads can be found below.

Known as the Kia Super League T20, it was first played in the 2016 season and the six-team tournament was won by Southern Vipers, a side led by the former English captain Charlotte Edwards. The Vipers had finished at the top of the points table with four wins and a defeat and stormed into the final where they played the winner of the semi-final between Loughborough Lightning and Western Storm.

Heather Knight’s unbeaten 52 led the Storm to a win but in the final Suzie Bates slammed a 46-ball 52 to help the Vipers overcome the Western Storm in the final.

This season of the Women’s Super League will see a whole gamut of women’s cricketers from England and all over the world, with the likes Ellyse Perry, Harmanpreet Kaur and Chamari Atapattu making it to different squads. However, Kaur has been ruled out of the tournament because of an injury and replaced by Dillon du Preez.

The Lancashire Thunder will be led by Danielle Hazell and will have Sarah Taylor, Jess Jonassen and Lea Tahuhu as a part of the squad while Loughborough Lightning have Georgia Elwiss captaining the team. Perry, Elyse Villani and Kristen Beams will all make the team as well.
