The West Indian Women will tour New Zealand for a three-match ODI and five-match Twenty20 International series in 2018.
While the exact schedule for the Windies tour is yet to be released, this New Zealand-West Indies is expected to be played in March 2018. Around the same time, the England men’s team will also be in New Zealand, playing in a five-match ODI and two-match Test series against the hosts.
Interestingly, New Zealand and West Indies have never played a Test match against each other, while being very evenly matched in the ODI format. Of the 16 ODIs between these two sides, the New Zealand Women’s team has won eight and lost seven.
14 previous Twenty20 Internationals between these two sides have resulted in eight wins for the White Ferns while West Indies have won just four with one other game tied.
Both, New Zealand and West Indies crashed out of the recently-concluded Women’s World Cup without making it to the semi-finals. The two sides met in the league stage of the tournament and New Zealand had run away winners in a one-sided encounter.
West Indies were bowled out for 150 which the White Ferns chased down in just 18.2 overs for the loss of two wickets – Rachel Priest scoring an unbeaten 90 off just 55 balls.
West Indies Women tour of New Zealand will be released later in the year and will be updated below.
